Installation Note 40044: Maintenance might not be applied to a SAS Software Depot for client users when SAS/ETS® software is included in the order

When you create a SAS Software Depot for client users and your order contains SAS/ETS software, SAS® Foundation might not install properly. This issue has been corrected in the third maintenance release of SAS 9.2 (TS2M3) Revision 10w34 and later. To avoid this problem, obtain the latest SAS software.
However, to work around this issue for earlier versions of SAS, you need to edit the product.xml file. The issue occurs because an entry in product.xml contains an ampersand (&).
Before you create a client software depot from your original SAS Software Depot, perform the following steps to remove the ampersand:
- Navigate to either the product_data\etscomp__92110__win__en__sp0__1 directory or, for 64-bit systems, the product_data\etscomp__92110__wx6__en__sp0__1 directory.
- Open product.xml in a text editor (for example, Helios Software Solutions TextPad or Microsoft Windows Notepad).
- Locate the following entry:
<prodName loc="en" v="SAS/ETS Time Series & Econometric Modeling Common Components" />
- Remove the & from the entry:
<prodName loc="en" v="SAS/ETS Time Series Econometric Modeling Common Components" />
- Install the client software depot.
If you are going to use SAS/ETS software, you might have to select the components for the program during the installation. To select these components, perform the following steps:
- In the SAS Administrator Wizard, select the following components of SAS/ETS software:
- Perform the client installation from the client software depot that you created in the previous steps.
Note: In Revision 10w34 and later, the components for SAS/ETS software are automatically selected. You should still check that these components are selected when you perform the maintenance.
